Through Wabash
I drove through Wabash last weekend. It only took about 10 minutes to get from one end of town to the other. But it brought back a flood of 20+ years of memories…
Eagles, the movie theater where I went on my first date.
The Honeywell Center, the location of my baccelaureate.
My piano teacher’s home, where I endured hours of lessons.
My summer place of employment, an anesthesiologist office.
The fair grounds where I served as 4-H fair queen.
My dentist’s office (who is now retired) who brought me through braces.
My family physician’s office who saw me through countless ailments, including mono.
The cemetery where we buried my grandmother.
The Drive-In Theater, where I was NOT allowed to go on dates.
My high school alma mater.
So many memories… brought back in so little time…
….you wouldn’t be so nostalgic if you had to move back every summer……lol

brings back memories for me, too! (driving through was a little slower through the summer due to the construction… 😉 I love it when we drive through during the Christmas season and see the “tree” on top of the courthouse – this still seems almost magical, even when a few bulbs are burned out.

I KNOW! I love that they still light it, even after all these years. It gives me warm fuzzies to see it peeking over the skyline as I approach the Cut.
