Good Things Come in Little Packages

My sister handed me a package and said, “This is from Anna.”  My name was scrawled on the top in black marker (complete with a backwards “S”) in my beloved niece’s handwriting.

“We were at the store, and Anna insisted that we get this for Aunt Serena,” my sister explained.  “She picked it out all by herself.”

Inside my credit-card-sized package was a red high-heel shoe charm.  (See left)

I was most touched – that my niece thought of me, picked out something she knew I’d love (which I do), and was perceptive enough to know that I love shoes.  (I don’t think we’ve ever had the conversation that Aunt Serena is obsessed with shoes, but I do buy them for her often.)

Thanks, Anna!  Aunt Serena loves you! 🙂
