Jonathan is a fine musician. When he was in high school, he was the top trombonist in the state of Texas. In addition to his mad trombone skills, he also plays the piano, acoustic and electric guitar. He helps lead worship at his church, and he’s the lead singer in his band, Outer Sanctum. The boy’s got talent.
Jonathan is an Aggie. As such, he is a Southern gentleman who says “y’all” and enjoys two-steppin’. For those who aren’t familiar with A&M, this also means he’s huge on traditions (like the Century Tree), crazy about college football, and obsessed with his class ring.
Jonathan is an engineer. A mechanical engineering major, he was recruited out of A&M to work for Rolls Royce. Currently, he is a design engineer for blades and compressors. When I tell people he designs airplane engines for a living, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard, “Oooo…he’s smart.” Yup.
Jonathan is an athlete. When he’s not at some sort of band/worship rehearsal or spending time with me, chances are he’s on an athletic field somewhere playing ultimate frisbee, soccer, flag football, broomball, or curling.
Jonathan is funny. It’s the first word I use to describe him when someone asks. (He’s not your stereotypical engineer, to say the least.) We’ve laughed ’til we cried on many, many occasions. He’s an extrovert who loves to tell stories and jokes. He’s phenomenal at charades!
Happy Birthday, Jonathan! I love you! 🙂
