Jonathan and I went to Verizon a few weeks ago to see Skillet (one of his favorite bands), who put on a solid show, as expected.  They happened to be opening for Creed.  (They disbanded in 2004 but reunited in 2009.)

Creed’s music was spot-on, and their pyrotechnics were impressive.  What I was NOT expecting was them to come across as a Christian band.  (Maybe they are… I don’t know?)  Scott Stapp, the lead singer, spoke openly about reconnecting with God and the importance of faith.  Before he sang Arms Wide Open, he nearly cried as he talked about his children being such a strong influence in his life.

All in all, it was a fun night with great music, even if I did get beer spilled on me and smoke blown in my face.  (Awesome.)
