Wisdom From Dungy

Grace is a simulcast site for Willow Creek’s Leadership Summit.  As such, I was privileged to attend.  This year, I was elated that Tony Dungy was one of the featured speakers.  His portion focused on mentoring, which is also the topic of his new book.  During his interview, I jotted down the following notes:

Leadership is helping those you lead.

Stubbornness is a virtue if you’re right.

Don’t mistake the number of hours you put in at work for productivity.

If God has given us knowledge, wisdom, or experience, it’s our responsibility to mentor others.

A 30-second conversation can change your life.

Everyone should have a Paul and be a Timothy.

Don’t give up.

For more from Dungy, check out his new book The Mentor Leader: Secrets to Building People and Teams that Win Consistently.
