Life is Precious

Justin worked as a greeter at the front desk at my gym.  He scanned my membership card often and would greet me genuinely.  He was known for being polite but quiet, unlike some of his boisterous colleagues. 

I went to the gym a few weeks ago, only to be met by a sign on the front desk that had Justin’s picture on it.  The text below explained that Justin died on June 28.  He was only 20.  He found out that he had leukemia only three days prior to his death.   

It was a startling reminder of how short and precious life is…
