One of my favorite running paths in Fishers goes through a wooded area.  A few weeks ago, I was on my frequented route when I noticed a Dad and his daughter by a stream.

The daughter (who looked about 4 years old) reached waaaaay out into the stream to grab a shiny rock.

The Dad, watchful of the daughter, recognized that she might fall in, so he reached down and grabbed her belt-loop.

The daughter was oblivious to her Dad’s little act of security.  She kept on stretching and gathering her treasures.

I was struck at the beautiful example of how God watches over us, protecting us and loving us, even when we’re oblivious.

“He will not let your foot slip – He who watches over you will not slumber.” -Psalm 121:3
