Just Enough

I worshipped at the church I grew up in on Easter.

At the appropriate time during the service, the pastor set up Communion with the usual, “On the night Jesus was betrayed…” talk.  He also mentioned that because we had such a large crowd (large crowd is relative…they had over 100), he wasn’t sure we would have enough communion cups to go around.  The back half of the congregation would instead dip the bread in a cup of juice he prepared frantically before the service.

The bread and juice were passed around.  As the ushers went forward to return the trays, there was one sole cup of juice left.  The pastor was overwhelmed at how there was just enough – with leftovers even. He placed the sole remaining cup on the altar for our Guest.

Was it a coincidence?  I don’t think so.  I believe it was God.  Because He provides just enough of what we need exactly when we need it.
