Learning to Love What You’ve Got
I was watching What Not to Wear (I’m a big fan!) on TLC a few weeks ago. The makeover contestant was complaining to the stylist about the thickness, color, growth patterns, and pretty much everything possible about her hair.
The stylist leaned in and said, “At some point, you just have to learn to love what you’ve got.”
There are countless things about my body that I’d love to change. Yet, no matter how hard I try, I can’t. I greatly appreciated the not-so-subtle reminder that maybe I just need to accept the body that God has given me. He specifically gave me my toes, legs, freckles, hair, insert-every-other-body-part-here, so maybe I should view them as gifts rather than curses.
