Trusting God

One of my friends has been staying with me while her mom is in St. Vincent Hospital.

I have been awed as their family has faced every test, every cat scan, every surgery with the utmost trust in God.  Even in the midst of unanswered questions, unsure diagnoses, and frustrating waits, their response has consistently been, “We’ll just trust God in this.”  And they have.

Somehow, I doubt that if I (or someone in my family) was faced with the word “cancer” that I would be so trusting and peaceful about it.  I’m not sure my faith would trump my worry.

I have so much to learn.

“I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” -Psalm 91:2
