hamburgerI seem to have lost my patience.

I noticed it was missing when I was pacing while waiting for my microwave meal to finish cooking.  And when I was tapping my toe while waiting in line at Target.  And when I was squirming while sitting in the waiting room at the dentist.

I’m afraid I’m not alone in this losing battle.  We live in a society of immediacy.  We like fast food because it’s convenient.  We text when we can’t reach someone with a phone call.  We want things NOW.

Have you ever gotten impatient with God?  There have been times when I’ve prayed for something and (seemingly) gotten no answer.  It’s not an easy place to be…left waiting.

I don’t know about you, but God’s timing isn’t always my own.

Isn’t there a phrase – good things come to those who wait?  It never said anything about waiting patiently. J

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”  –Psalm 27:14
