My friend Jane died on Saturday. She was 60.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer after finding a growth under her arm. It was removed but re-grew with vengeance. Rinse and repeat x3.
Despite chemotherapy and radiation treatments, the cancer spread throughout her body. Last week they discovered that she had 4 brain tumors. In a matter of days, her body succumbed to this terrible disease.
Jane was one of my mom’s best friends. I watched my mom struggle for years without having close female companionship. When Jane moved to Wabash from Colorado 12 years ago, all that changed. They became shopping buddies. They worked together one day a month stuffing invoices at a local company. Jane filled a void in my Mom’s life, for which I’m eternally grateful.
Jane leaves behind a husband, two kids, a son-in-law and daughter-in-law, and two precious granddaughters. She also leaves a legacy of the sweetest, most gentle spirit that radiated the light of Christ. This world is a darker place without her.
Well done, good and faithful servant…
